New Resource was founded in 1986 by Sandy Duffy and Chet Flynn. Their goal was to bring to market products that would delight the end user with their operation and innovation.

With a background in commercial theater and recording studio hardware the transition to the new business of residential home theater and support of the CEDIA systems integrators was seamless.

In 1995 New Resource created a sister company, Necessities. Necessities is a distribution company created to provide the “bits and pieces” that installers of complex A/V systems need at a moments notice.

New Resource and Necessities are the retailer, professional designer and installer’s source for the finest in image, sound and control in the New England and Upstate New York markets.
